Meet Dr Okamoto
I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and have had the privilege of practicing orthodontics in Costa Mesa, CA for over 25 years.
As an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, I am deeply involved in my professional community. Besides creating beautiful smiles for my patients, I spent 15 years as a faculty member at the UCLA School of Dentistry, teaching future orthodontists.
My life is not just about orthodontics; I enjoy practicing yoga, exploring new places, indulging in arts and crafts, and spending quality time with my son. My friendly and engaging spirit is a big part of who I am. I chose to be an orthodontist because I felt it would be rewarding to be in a profession which helps people look better and thus feel better about themselves while at the same time having a positive impact on their health.
Education & Experience
I began my academic journey with an undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies – Human Sciences from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Following my passion for orthodontics, I attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City, where I earned my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. After completing dental school, I attended UCLA where I received a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master’s degree in Oral Biology.
